Well, Supanova in Sydney is over for another year and I must say it has changed for the better (and not because I took part this year instead of attending). There seems to be more of a professionalism to it than years gone by and I actually enjoyed my 3 hours there.

Along with meeting a lot of local cartoonists, I managed to help man the Australian Cartoonists’ Association booth where a range of cartoonists spent the time drawing cariacatures of anybody who wanted a free sketch (and needless to say, a LOT of people wanted a free sketch). I only wish I could have helped with the process, but my cariacaturing ability isn’t the best and the sitters could probably draw better sketches of themselves than me.

This lucky kid got a free comission by newly appointed Ginger Meggs’ artist Jason Chatfield (pictured with Sydney artist Steve Panozzo).
All in all, a really enjoyable time to meet fans and local artists. Further photos can be found here.
